The Quest for Eternal Life

I recently read an article from the Mother Nature Network. Here is the link <= Click here.

Imagine having the capability to revert from being a mature adult to a young child. Only the jellyfish can do that. It's amazing to know that there are animals who could fulfill most of our greatest dreams: to live forever. We often neglect the existence of these small animals, yet we never realized that they were gifted with something that we could only dream of.

Immortality is something a lot of people wanted to attain. It has been the subject of a dozen films, cartoons and the like where an evil antagonist would go on a quest to find the fountain of youth or somewhat in order to amass more wealth and power. The protagonist would then try to thwart the evil madman's plans. It's a common plot.

Yet we can never deny that deep within us, living forever is what we wanted.

That would be cool!

So let's turn into jellyfish. Not really.

If we only knew, eternal life is within our grasp. It is very possible. We can learn that from the jellyfish. When I read the article, I thought why did God gave these silly creatures such amazing gift? Those animals are actually worthless. Sometimes, their sting would hurt a swimmer. Sometimes, these crazy critters would clog power generators. If anyone could remember the time when a large block of Metro Manila lost electricity due to a hoard of these creatures blocking the generators.

So why did God give immortality to them? My only guess is that because these jellyfishes have no desire for anything. They just floated where God wanted them to float. They move wherever and whenever the Lord steered them. They could move on their own volition but waves stronger than them could carry them elsewhere. Hence, their abundant number in various seas.

For starters, this could probably be the key to eternal life. Care for nothing but that which God wanted you to care for. Not power. Not riches. Not wealth. The cares of these world mean nothing to them just like the jellyfish. They are simple creatures.

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother[a] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. - Matthew 19:28-30

Gamersville Yet Again

I have just posted some blogs about games and gamers, now I never realized that I would post again after a few hours. Try reading it here and here for a change.

I admit I am a gamer. Not hardcore though. I still sleep and eat at the right times. I even have enough time to do my work.

Although I could be hardcore if I wanted to. In fact anyone could be one.

While browsing through the news online, I hit upon one cool article that really amazed me. Try to read it here <-click link

The fact that you could actually trace someone while playing games is cool enough. Wait till you learn that the game company actually helps out in tracing people and they do have the access codes for that.

So does that mean it's the end of privacy?

Whatever, I've got nothing to hide. I just revel at the fact that 2010 is a year for innovations and amazing ideas. Just beware that surprises, though cool, could not always be helpful.

Madz Et Al 2009 Choir Festival

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
May 16, 2009 - Once again, our church's very own Lifeline choral invited us to watch the annual Madz Et Al Choral Festival. This festival was sponsored and produced by no less that the Philippine Madrigal Singers and runs for a week at Philamlife Auditorium. They invite their affiliated choirs (choirs with conductors who were former members or underwent training with them) to present their best musical pieces and renditions. Most of the time, expect the choirs to go all out!!

I was not able to watch last year's (2008) festival since I had no money back then. But this year's theme and genre, classical-romantic works, really made me eager to watch. And for less than 300, I got the chance to hear the best vocal renditions in the madrigal style. Too bad though since I realized that I was watching the last show in festival. There were 6 choirs for each night who would sing three to four foreign and local songs under the mentioned genre. It was really a night to remember and the best concert if you are a choir aficionado.
